Peter the son of Sam is too young [44] to be the tenant at Edengarrock who was aged 60 in 1841, and most of the baptisms of his children were witnessed by James Emslie of Backbrae who was born at Tullynessle, so I doubt whether these events relate to John's brother Peter.
     Peter Emslie married Barbara Ledingham before 1822. There is an inventory for Margaret Emslie or Ledingham, widow of Peter Emslie, farmer, Upper EdinGarioch, Premnay. NAS SC1/37/72 f. 175.
     Peter Emslie and Barbara Ledingham appeared on the 1841 census in Premnay, Aberdeenshire. Peter Emslie, aged 60, farmer, Barbara 55, James, 15, Mary 15, Peter 15, Jennet, 14, Alexander 10, all born in the county.There were others (Wuksibm Tough ^ Ingam) in the same building.
     Peter died on 28 November 1845 in the Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen. His wife was described as a widow in the 1851 census at Premnay.
     His will was proved on 18 March 1846 at Aberdeen. Peter Emslie, farmer in Upper Edingarioch, Premnay.

Son of John Emslie, coppersmith (master) deceased and Jane Emslie, m.s. Stephen (deceased). The informant was his widow Margaret on the 16th. He was buried on 18 December 1897 in Nellfield Cemetery, Aberdeen. Peter Emslie, 18 Dec 1897 aged 65 yrs.

     Samuel Emslie married Elizabeth Jamieson on 7 February 1792 in Premnay, Aberdeenshire. Samuel was a farmer. Thomas Gordon of Premnay was the proprietor of Lickleyhead, Barnes, Newton & Overhall in 1770.
     Samuel of Edingarroch in Premnay appears to have moved to Aberdeen between 1796 and 1802. The naming pattern suggests that his father was Peter or James, so possibly he is the brother of James who inherited the farm at Premnay, though born at Tullynessle. There is no Samuel Emslie listed in the Aberdeen directories.
     Samuel died before 1841. He may be the Samuel Emslie buried 1 Oct 1832 at St Peter's churchyard, Aberdeen. There is no corresponding entry in ScotlandsPeopel website.

     Samuel died on 19 January 1836 in Tough, Aberdeenshire. This is probably the death of Mr Samuel Emslie of Parkhhill, aged 73, of debility, in the parish of Tough on 19 Jan 1836.
     His will was proved on 11 January 1837 at Aberdeenshire. Samuel Emslie, residing in Tullochvenus, (parish of Tough) thereafter residing at Linton in parish of Cluny. His will mentions George Emslie, farmer in Mill? of Kemnay, Joseph Emslie of Camphill, merchant in Tarrland?, Alexander Emslie, residing in Aberdeen and the Reverend Francis Muil? one of the teachers in Gadens? Hospital and the majority ... to the said George Emslie, Joseph Emslie.
