Pallot's marriage index states: Charles Steer (of Christ Church) & Mary Wood (minor) with consent of her father William Wood, by licence, St George Hanover Square. Mary Wood was an executor of Charles William Steer's estate on 4 October 1810 in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury.

Interestingly not all the children of Charles and Mary Steer are mentioned in both of their wills. Charles missed out Frances (Countess of Albemarle in his will.).

     Philip Wood was born in 1895.
     Philip Wood married Margaret Maud Halahan, daughter of Samuel Crosby Halahan and Maud Ethel Galton, on 19 November 1932. Philip Wood and Margaret Maud Halahan were divorced in 1947.
     Philip died in 1952.

     Rose Kate Wood was born on 18 September 1868 in Oundle, Northamptonshire. She was the daughter of John Wood and Rebecca Burnham Bowker. William and Rose were listed as the children of John Wood in the 1871 census in North St, Dryden House, Oundle, Northamptonshire.
     She attended Miss Willoughby's school for young ladies in Peterborough, a fact which is substantiated by samples of needlework which she had worked the minutest stitches. William, Caroline and Rose were listed as the children of Rebecca Burnham Bowker in the 1881 census in Oundle, Northamptonshire. William, Caroline and Rose were listed as the children of Rebecca Burnham Bowker in the 1891 census in North Street, Oundle.
     Rose Kate Wood married Herbert John Fordham on 11 July 1894 in Oundle, Northamptonshire. Rose was separated from her husband, Herbert John Fordham circa 1904.
     Little is known of her life after the separation from her husband, apart from the care of her son of who she seemed possessive. During her later years in Lowestoft, she apparently, more or less, lived as a recluse although she always kept in touch with her brother William, relying on him for advice. She had not taken kindly to her son's marriage.
After her only son Jack's wife died, it seemed to him to be an obvious solution to bring his mother to live with him as he had been receiving complaints that she suffered hallucinations. His mother then looked after Joyce until his marriage with Babs. She was good to the little girl and upset when she died.
Rose Kate did not approve of the Jack's second marriage, as on the one occasion he took Babs home to meet her, she said "Why did he want to get married again when he already had a good home!"
A house in Romford was bought for Rose Kate and all was well for a few years but during the war she began having hallucinations again. Babs visited her with Ann & Hilary to make sure she was all right as it was then impossible for Jack to get away. After some consideration, Babs was invited to enter the house and as time passed she became more friendly, although she was very worried about the people who walked over bedroom ceiling and shone torches on her. However, on a second visit Rose Kate invited Jack and Babs to live with her but said she could not have the children.
     Rose died in 1946 in Sible Redingham, Essex. She became confused about 1929 and moved to Romford. She was very nervous during the bombing, developed bronchitis and was sent to a residential home in the country.
Her health declined during 1943-44 and after a period spent in hospital she went to live in a residential home in Sible Redingham where she died suddenly in the spring of 1946, after influenza.

     Thomas Wood married Ellen Poole, daughter of Thomas Poole and Ellen Aylwin, on 10 March 1653/54 in New Shoreham, Sussex.

     Thomas Wood was the son of William Wood and Martha Rich.

     William Wood was born circa 1750.

     He was educated at Oundle Public School, carried on his father's drapery business until he retired when he sold the proterty a multiple store. He took an active part in the public life of Oundle.. William, Caroline and Rose were listed as the children of Rebecca Burnham Bowker in the 1881 census in Oundle, Northamptonshire.

     William Burnham Wood made a will dated 6 May 1930 in Oundle. Will of William Burnham Wood,of Hill Crest, Oundle, Northamptonshire, retired draper mentions his wife Lucy Ann Wadland Wood and Madge Bowker Stokes his daughter, and his grand daughters Doreen Madge Stokes, Barbara Mary Stokes and Elizabeth Stokes.
     William Burnham Wood lived at Glapthorn Road, Oundle, Northamptonshire.
     William died after a long illness on 21 June 1943 in Stamford Hospital, Stamford, Lincolnshire, aged 78. His obituary stated that he died at Stamford Hospital onMonday morning, aged 78. He had not been well for some time. He was formerly in business in Oundle as a draper, retiring shortly after the Great War. He has played his part in many spheres of public life. He was a member of the Urban Council, a Town Feoffee, a Trustee of parson Latham's hospital, Vicar's warden fo the parish church, an income tax commissioner. He was an expert horticulturalist, his knowledge of fruit, especially apples, being of the highest order, and in the days of shows won many prizes. He was treasurer of the Oundle Horticultural Society for many years. Of a most genial personality, he will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends. The town has lost a good citizen and the most sincere sympathy is felt for the widow and daughter in their great loss

On June 21st 1943, William Burnham Wood, of Glapthorn Road, Oundle, after a long illness, patiently borne, aged 78. A dearly loved husband, father and grandfather. Funeral today (Friday) at the parish church at 2.30 pm. He was buried on 25 June 1943 in Oundle, Northamptonshire.
