     Bertram Egerton Bowker was born on 24 November 1808 in Mitford?, Northumberland. He was the son of Miles Bowker and Anna Maria Mitford. Bertram Egerton Bowker was christened on 7 January 1809 in Mitford. He was christened on 4 October 1813 in Almer, Dorset.
     Bertram died in 1907. He married Anne Simpson and had a large family.
     The Hon. Bertram Egerton Bowker MLC, the fifth son of Miles, was the first of the Bowkers to leave Thurfield and farmed in the Koonap region. He did well and this encouraged several of his brothers to follow his lead. Of Bertram's 12 children, only the youngest son, Gordon Cross Bowker carried on the family name and the succeeding generation. However, he emigrated to Kenya.

     Burgess Bowker was christened on 19 November 1721 in Yaxley, Huntingdonshire. He was the son of Thomas Bowker and Mary Burgess. Burgess was a tanner in 1743, in Stanground, Huntingdonshire.
     Burgess Bowker married Elizabeth (Mary) Higby on 6 September 1743 in Stanground, HUN. Married by licence and both of Yaxley.
     He inherited property at Stanground under his father's will.
     In Thomas Bowker's will dated 17 January 1743/44 in Yaxley, Burgess Bowker was named as heir; Will of Thomas Bowker the elder of Yaxley, tanner, weak of body ... to my son Thomas Bowker all the [property] now in the tenure or occupation of my son John Bowker of Yaxley afsd with the tann office yards, pratts, etc. upon condition that my said son Thomas pay unto my execs ... for my daughters Elizabeth & Mary Bowker, spinsters the sum of £5.00 apiece yearly ... until 21 ... [if they die] to be paid to and between my sons Burgess, James & Samuel ..; to my son Burgess Bowker [property] wherein I now dwell on condition [as above]; I give unto my said son Thomas [property] in Farcet [property]; I give unto my son John Bowker brick works, etc. for a term and after that term I give the house to my son Thomas forever; I give to my said son John all the rest & residue of the leasehold lands and tenements held by me of the said Earl of Lincoln ..; I give to my son James Bowker ... land in Yaxley ..; I give unto my sons William, John & David £5 for mourning, to my said daughters Elizabeth & Mary spinsters... to my afsd sons & daughters, Burgess, James, Samuel, Elizabeth & Mary & their heirs, all the rest & residue ... to be divided. I appoint my brother-in-law Mr John Burgess & Mr David Burgess executors & guardians ... dated 27 Jan 1743/4. Witnessed by Thomas Bowker. Codicil: land at Stanground ... to my son Burgess Bowker.      Burgess Bowker was mentioned in the will of Mary Bowker dated 25 September 1754. Burgess was a farmer in Alconbury Weston.
     Burgess Bowker made a will dated 21 October 1790 in Alconbury Weston. I Burgess Bowker of Alconbury Weston Hunts ... to my son Burgess Bowker £15, my son David Bowker £15, to my dear wife Eliz. Bowker and my son son Peter Bowker the remainder of my personal effects, to be equally divided between them ... the afsd Elizabeth Bowker my wife & Peter Bowker my son to be joint executors ...
     Burgess died before 24 November 1790 in Alconbury Weston, Huntingdonshire. Sacred to the memory of Burgess Bowker who died [24 Nov 1790] aged ... years. He was buried on 24 November 1790 in Alconbury Weston.
     His will was proved on 27 December 1790 in Huntingdonshire. The will was proved by Peter & Elizabeth Bowker, effects under £600.

He added a codicil to his will on 16 March 1824 in Alconbury Weston. He made a second codicil 15 Jan 1824: I obtained from the Dean & Chapter of the Collegiate church of Westminster a renewed lease of my leasehold estates in Alconbury with Weston Hunts ...
