     Margery Sutton (Maulay) was born circa 1355 at Sutton in Holderness, Yorkshire. She was [second] daughter [& co-heir] of Sir Thomas Sutton of [Branceholme Castle] & Sutton in Holderness, by Agnes his wife. widow of Peter de Mauley le Septiesme, 7th Lord of Mulgrave. She had 2 sons Peter & John Mauley by her first marriage and daughters Constance & Elizabeth.
     Margery Sutton (Maulay) married William de Aldeburgh, son of Sir William de Aldeburgh and Elizabeth de Lisle, after 1377 at England.
     In William de Aldeburgh's will dated 14 November 1390 at Harewood, Yorkshire,, Margery Sutton (Maulay) was named as executrix of the estate; William was of Harwode, and describes himself as a chivaler; he mentions the friars of Everwyck, his wife Margerie who is made executor. An annotation describes him as the only son Wililam de ldburgh, Lord of Harewood by foeffment of Robert Lord Lisle de Rougemonte, the brother of Elizabeth his wife. She was an executor of William de Aldeburgh's estate on 6 September 1391 at York, Yorkshire.
     Margery Sutton (Maulay) made a will dated 22 September 1391 at Harewood, YKS. On the day coming next before the feast of St Michael 1391, in the manor of Harwod, I Margery, relict of Sir William Aldburgh, Kt, lately deceased ... my body to be buried amongst the Friars Preachers near the tomb of my aforesaid lord there buried, and 25 lbs of wax for five candles to be burned around my body in my sepulture ... 100 shillings be distributed to the poor ... 20 shillings to the Friars Minors at York and the Friars Carmelites and Augustines at York 20 shillings in equal portions ... to Peter Mauley my son ... to John Mauley my son ... to Constance my daughter...
     Margery died on 10 October 1391 at Yorkshire, England. #1079 Margery, late the wife of Wm de Aldburgh Kt.(who died before her) writ 28 Oct 15 Rich II Inq at Harewood 16 May. She died on Oct 10 last without issue by her said husband. Heirs as above Peter de Malo Lacua aged 15 is son & heir of the said Margery. She was daughter of Sir Thomas Sutton of Sutton in Holderness, widow of Peter de Mauley 7th Lord of Mulgrave. She had 2 sons Peter & John Mauley by her first marriage and daughters Constance & Elizabeth.
. She was buried at Dominican Friars preachers, York, Yorkshire.
     Her will was proved on 19 October 1391 at the Prerogative Court of York.
     Margery Sutton (Maulay) was the subject of an Inquisition Post Mortem held at York on 29 October 1391. Margery, late the wife of Wiliam de Aldeburgh, knight. Inq taken at Harwod, 16 May 15 Richard II. She held the undermentioned manor jointly iwth the said Wiliam her husband, who died before her, by gift and grant of William de Kirkeby, chaplain, and Robert de Tyndale to William de Aldeberugh knt, her said husband's father, for life, with successive remainers to her and her said husband and the heirs of their bodies, and to the right heirs of the said William de Aldburgh the father.
Kelfeld. The manor, held of John Percy of Kyldale by knights service.
She died on 10 Octrober last without issue by her said husband. Elizabeth, late the wife of Brian de Stapleton, the younger, knight, aged 28 years and more, and Sibyl wife of William de Rythre, knight, aged 25 years and more, daughters of William de Aldeburgh the father and sisters of William de Aldeburgh the son, are next heirs to the above manor by virtue of the gift aforesaid. Peter de Malo Lacu, aged 15 years, is son and heir of the said Margery.
