He may be the Gervase that was born to William Stancer and Mary (Borros) in 1770. Dinnington, Yks is very close to the Thorpe Salvin, Wales and the shared name of Gervas suggests a link. He was the son of William Stancer and Mary Borros.

No real evidence for this link. The witness was Richard and the John of Sutton is the only known John with a brother Richard.
     He may be the John buried at Worksop aged 70 on 25 April 1813.
