     Catherine Stanser (Taylor?) was christened on 12 April 1773 in Ketton cum Tixover, Rutland. She was the daughter of John Stanser and Eleanor Sims.
     Shis is possibly the Catherine Stancer who married John Taylor in 1801 at Uffington.

      Charles Stanser was also known as Stanzer in some records. He was born before April 1845 in Chester, Cheshire. He may be the son of Charles Stancer, who was born 26 June 1812 and baptised 19 june 1818 at Tong, Shropshire, son fo John & Ella Stancer.
     Charles Stanser married Emma Unknown. Their marriage and children were registered as Stanyer.

Charles Stanzer, head, 36, painter & plasterer, empolying 7 men & 3 boys, born Chester; his wife Emma, 37 born Lincl?? Salop, children William 13, Eliza 11, Ellen 8, Annie 6, Emily 3, Charles A 11 months, all born at Chester.

     His birth was registered in the quarter ending in September 1846 in Stamford RD, Northamptonshire. Charles Stanser was the son of James Stanser and Mary Plowright.

     Lt Col Charles Stanser was christened on 25 November 1762 in St Leodegarius, Old Basford, Nottinghamshire. He was the son of Rev Robert Stanser and Sarah Leeson.
     Lt Col Charles Stanser served in the military in the Army between 1787 and 1814. On 26 Dec 1787 in Ireland he was promoted to Lieutenant. He was appointed Colonel in the Army from Major in the Royal Marines in June 1814. In May 1808 he was appointed Lt Colonel in the Army from Captain of the Royal Marines.
     Lt Col Charles Stanser was mentioned in the will of Rev Robert Stanser dated 30 May 1808.
     In Bishop Robert Stanser's will dated 10 June 1815 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada,, Lt Col Charles Stanser was named as executor of the estate. Charles served in the Royal Marines until 1826. He was in Command at Woolwich and was a Major in the Royal Marines. He last appears in the Navy List as Lt Col in the Royal Marines, having attained that rank on 20 June 1825. He retired in Feb 1826 when he was succeeded by Major W W Higgins, as Lt Coloner of Infantry by purchase. He was a bachelor and died without issue.
     Lt Col Charles Stanser made a will dated 3 August 1832 in Lymington, Hampshire. This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles Stanser of Woodside near Lemington in the County of Hants Esquire made this third day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding First I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be fully paid and satisfied by my Executors hereinafter named out of my personal Estate I give devise and bequeath unto my Nephew Robert Brymer Stanser now residing at Fulham in the County of Middlesex all that my Copyhold Estate situate lying and being in the town of Fulham aforesaid now in the possession of Mr Bignold or his undertenants by virtue of a lease thereof granted by me to him To hold the said Copyhold Estate with its appurtenances unto my said Nephew Robert Brymer Stanser his heirs and assigns for ever according to the Custom of the Manor of Fulham under which the same is held All the rest residue and remainder of my property I give and bequeath unto the said Robert Brymer Stanser and Charles Edward Cox of Bartletts Buildings Holborn Esquire and to the survivor of them and their Executors Admons and assignes To and for the following trusts and purposes that is to say upon trust in the fist place to convert every thing into money and to Invest the same after payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses as hereinbefore mentioned in the purchase of Government Stock or securities in their own names and upon further trust to pay and apply the interest and dividends thereof unto my Sister Maria Robinson who now resides with me for and during the term of her natural life and from and after the decease of the said Maria Robinson upon further trust to divided the same into three equal parts of shares and to pay one third part thereof unto my Nephew Robert Charles Robinson one other third part thereof unto my niece Sarah Frances Robinson and the remaining third part unto my Niece Elizabeth Stanser Robinson the aforesaid shares not to be paid until they respectively attain twenty one years of age and in case of the death of any or either of them under that age then I give the share of him or her so dying unto the survivor of them in equal shares and proportions And I hereby direct my Executors to retain and reimburse themselves respectively All costs charges and expenses which they may incur or sustain in and about the execution of the trusts of this my Will And I hereby declare that the one shall not be answerable for the other of them but each of them for his own acts deeds or default And I appoint the said Robert Brymer Stanser and Charles Edward Cox Executors of this my last Will and do give unto the said Charles Edward Cox the Sum of ten pounds for his trouble In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year first before written -

     Peter Smith wrote: I appear to have found the McNair connection. It looks as though Eleanor Stanser, Robert's eldest daughter, married a James McNair and their grandson was Robert Stanser Mcnair, found in the 1881 census for Scotland and in the Cambridge University lists. She is mentioned in Robert Brymer Stanser's will of 1844: my sister Eleanor McNair widow of the late Lieutenant Colonel James McNair. Michael Avery added information. Eleanor Stanser was also known as Ellen in some records. She was born circa 1805? In Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was the daughter of Bishop Robert Stanser and Mary Aust.
     Eleanor Stanser married Col James MacNair on 31 July 1824 in St Mary's, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. They may also be the parents of: Philip born 1824 Greenfield, Shettleston, and Eleanor born 1821 Greenfield. Elizabeth Stanser was an executor of Catherine Stanser's estate on 8 July 1885 in Nottingham. She was the sister, a spinster and the sole executrix.

     Elizabeth Stanser was christened on 13 June 1843 in Sturton le Steeple, Nottinghamshire. She was the daughter of William Stanser and Mary Cobb. Hannah, Catherine, Elizabeth, Mary, George, John, William and Thomas were listed as the children of William Stanser in the 1851 census in North St, Sturton le Steeple. George, Elizabeth, William, James and Laura were listed as the children of William Stanser in the 1861 census in Sturton le Steeple. Elizabeth and William were listed as the children of William Stanser in the 1871 census in Sturton le Steeple. Laura, Sarah and Elizabeth were listed as the children of Mary Cobb in the 1881 census in Sturton le Steeple.
     Elizabeth died on 13 September 1921 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, aged 78.
     Her will was proved on 18 November 1921 in the Principal Probate Registry, London.

     Elizabeth Stanser was christened on 17 January 1785 in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. She was the daughter of John Stancer and Ann Reaynes.
     Elizabeth Stanser married Paul Durdy on 8 February 1813 in Worksop, NTT. Leslie Morris descends from this marriage and he writes: They appear to have lived in Worksop all their married life having 8 children. Paul was in occupations involving horses - Ostler, chaise driver,postilion and at the time of his death in 1848 a postboy. Elizabeth was still alive at the 1851 Census and I believe died in 1854.
I think that John and Ann may have married at Blythe on 15-06-1778, but I cannot be certain of this.
In the Worksop 1811 Census there are 3 Stancer families. J Stancer at Bridge St, 5 persons - 2 male and 3 female. This is I think John and Ann and 3 children. George Stancer also in Bridge St again 5 persons 2 male and 3 female. I have not been able to find out any more about this family. Finally John Stancer at Lead Hill, just 1 ma1e and 1 female. This is I think elizabeth's eldest brother. He married Elizabeth Theaker at Worksop on 26-11-1810. They are still at Lead Hill in 1841, both aged 60, John's occupation being a currier.
     Elizabeth Stanser and Paul Durdy appeared on the 1841 census in Market Place, Worksop. William Stancer aged 45, labourer; Ann Stancer, 50 & Sarah Stancer 45, dress-maker & William ... butcher, are in the same building as the Durdy family headed by Paul & Elizabeth and their children John 25, Attoney's clerk and Charles 12, all born in the county.

John Durdy, head, unmarried, 38, attorney's clerk, born Worksop, Elizabeth Durdy, mother, widow, aged 65, housekeeper. born Worksop; Ann Stanser, aunt. unmarried,, aged 69, formerly cook and Sarah Stanser aged 55, unmarried, formerly dressmaker, both born in Worksop; and two lodgers.
