In the name of God amen I John Squirrell of the parish of Ringshall in the co. of Suffolk farmer being of perfect mind and memory on this 13th day of August 1806 make this my last will and testament as in manner & form following that is to say my will is to give to my son John Squirrell the remainder part of my lease of the farm where i (sic) now live and likewise all my Outdore stock and indore stock with all other property whatsoever and wheresoever upon a valuation that shall be had between the two independent parteys the one person to be chused by the executors and the other to be chused by my son William Squirrell and further my will is that 3 youngest children shall be kept by my son John Squirrell during their minority by being paid for the same as the 2 independent parteys shall think right the one to be choused by my executors and the other by my son William Squirrell and further my will is that after my funeral expenses are paid and all just debts are paid that the remaining part of my property shall be equally divided between my surviving children Elizabeth, Phebee, John, William, Jimmyma, Robert, Sarah, Mary, Dinah, except my son William and my son Robert, which shall have shorte of these legacy twenty pounds a peace each upon account of moneys that they have received in planting them in life. Likewise I appoint Nicholas Freeman of Dedham, Essex and my said son John Squirrell of the parish of Ringshall my executors ... John Squirrll. Witnessed by Samuel ..msey & John H...
     John died on 6 January 1808 in Wattisham. The memorial inscription in the Baptist burial ground states that he was aged 66.
     His will was proved on 19 May 1808. His estate was valued under £600. The within named executors were duly sworn the 19 May 1808.
