Vacated by death presumably 1487. 28 May 1487 Robert Ryther was patron of church. Lord of Harewood 1476, sheriff 1487. His father's will suggests that there may be two Roberts, kt and rector.

He was JP for the West Rdiing from 1481. He rallied to the Tudors, recovering some offices.

Thomas died after 1 July 1527 in Ryther, YKS. He was the subject of an Inquisition Post Mortem held in Yorkshire & Lincolnshire on 11 October 1527.
The administration of his estate was granted on 25 September 1528 in the Prerogative Court of York. Administration was granted to Wm Babthorpe sen. & Charles Hedon executors.

Thomas Ryther married Agnes le Scrope, daughter of Henry le Scrope 6th Lord Scrope of Bolton and Lady Elizabeth Percy, circa 2 April 1510 in Yorkshire. Marriage settlement 2 April 1510.
In Sir Ralph Ryther's will dated 26 March 1520, Thomas Ryther was named as executor of the estate.
