     John Ruby (Rube) of NSW was involved in a criminal court case on 1 February 1808 in Dorset. On 1 Feb 1808 as a soldier, he was convicted at Dorset (Rad... Barracks) by Court martial
for 7 years and at the expiration of that period to serve as a soldier in any of H.M. Regiments at home or abroad. He was transported to New South Wales, Australia, arriving 29 September 1811. He travelled on the "Admiral Gambier" He received a conditional pardon # 870.
