     Charles Rout was born in 1847 in Mentone, Victoria. He was baptised at St James Church of England, Melbourne, son of Charles & Catherine Rout. Catherine was a noted midwife in the Cheltenham district.
     Charles Rout married Ellen Bland, daughter of Abraham Bland and Harriet Bullett, on 26 June 1876 in Yarram, Victoria. She was of Willsmere Park Farm.
     Charles and Ellen were registered in Willsmere Park, Kew, on the electoral roll dated 1909. He was a grazier and their daughter Lillian was living at home.
     Charles and Ellen were registered in Kew on the electoral roll dated 1914. He was a dairy famer and their children Frank, Nellie & Stella were at home with them.
     Charles died on 15 June 1923 in Hallam, Victoria. He was buried on 16 June 1923 in Anglican section of the cemetery, Dandenong. In memory of Charles, loving husband of Ellen Routh, died 15 June 1923, at rest.Also the above Ellen, died 15 May 1944.
