Elizabeth Popplewell was christened on 2 May 1602 in Belton, Lincolnshire. This parentage is dubious - he was senior rather than generosus and he had another daughter baptised the same year. She was the daughter of Robert Popplewell (of Humblewhate, Belton?) and Ann Popplewell.

In Robert Popplewell (of Humblewhate, Belton?)'s will dated 8 February 1623/24 in Belton, Elizabeth Popplewell was named as executrix of the estate; His will mentions his children Francis, Israel, his grand-daughter Ann daughter of Israel, William, his grandson Robert son of William, Elizabeth, and his wife Anne.
