She is mentioned as the wife of Samuel Handy in the will of her father William Orme dated 12 October 1807 bequeathing a share in the lands of Ballyfinan, co. Sligo. Her sister was Elizabeth, wife of William Fetherston, Esq. and they had a natural sister Anne.. She was the daughter of William Orme (of Abbeytown) and Ann Jackson.
     Jane Orme married Samuel Handy, son of Samuel Wesley Handy and Catherine Fleming, on 5 December 1803 or January 1804 in Dublin, Ireland. There is no record of this marriage in St Thomas' Dublin.

     Jane died of Sandford Place on 22 October 1839 in Dublin. In 1837 according ot Denis Handy's ms pedigree.
     Her will was proved on 14 November 1839 in Dublin. The last will and testament of Jane Handy, late of Sandford Place, co & city of Dublin, widow, deceased - Proved unto William Handy Esq. of same place, son of deceased, the sole executor. Effects £1384.

     William Orme (of Ballintober) made a will dated 23 December 1790 in Ballintobber, Kilfian, Tyrawley barony, Mayo, Ireland. His will asked to be buried in Ballintubber churchyard beside his mother. Ballintubber held by my father from Earl of Arran & bought from Earl of Arran by me, to Dorothy Fleming wife of Mathew Fleming of Old Rock, co. Sligo esq for life then to said Dorothy's son in law Samuel Wesley Handy for life then to his children by his present wife. The five quarters of Moygannagh co Mayo held from the See of Killala, to my nephews Robert Orme & William Orme subject to £50 yearly to their mother Mrs Orme. £100 due by Wm Orme of Abbeytown, niece Dorothy Fleming a large legacy, Robert Polke and his daughter by his late wife Mary Orme. Executors Robert Fleming of Achonry & said Mathew Fleming.
