I have been looking for my mother's family for years and just since the dawn of home computers and the Internet finally found some of her cousins. But, after all of us combined notes and family stories, we still could not get back any farther than the great grandmother generation. Fairly recently I discovered that one reason for that was that my great grandmother's (Sarah Ann Meekins Doylend) mother died while Sarah and her brother Tom MEEKINS were very small and her father had remarried. Since Sarah couldn't have known her mother well, that seemed to stop the stories on her side. Through the computer I have pieced together some of it (guessing and not documented -- just so you know, but it does seem a good guess and fit). I hope you can find your way through this manner of listing. I didn't think it would scan clearly, but typing it out makes it look confusing, too. Please let me know if you see where I have gone wrong, or if this matches your work. Sue. Sarah Ann Meekins was christened on 11 November 1849 in Hessett, Suffolk. She was the daughter of Alfred Meekins or Makins and Susan Austin.
