     Donald Gow Paterson was born on 29 May 1870 at Latheron, Caithness, Scotland. He was the son of Francis Paterson and Margaret Leslie Tindal.

     Francis Paterson was christened before 13 June 1828 at Latheron, Caithness, Scotland. He was the son of George Paterson and Margaret McDonald. Francis was a cooper and fisherman, at Latheron, Caithness.
     Francis Paterson married Margaret Leslie Tindal, daughter of Thomas Tindal and Catherine Ross, on 23 December 1853 at Langwell, Latheron, Caithness, Scotland. She married at Langwell Estate, near Berriedale, Caithness while living with her sister Mary & John Ross.
     Francis Paterson and Margaret Leslie Tindal appeared on the 1881 census at on the west side of Main Street, Latheron, Caithness. Francis Paterson, aged 53, born Latheron, cooper & fisherman with his wife Margaret aged 46, born Cromarty and children John, aged 16, clerk in the civil service (PO), James 12, Donald 10, Goerogina 14, Francis, daughter 7, all scholars and born in Latheron. They had a boarder John Planck married, aged 29, a diver & labourer born Edinburgh & John McDonald, unmarried aged 24 born Thurso, a mason & diver.
     Francis died in 1915.

     Francisina Paterson was born on 26 September 1874 at Latheron, Caithness, Scotland. She was the daughter of Francis Paterson and Margaret Leslie Tindal.

     George Paterson was born on 4 December 1862 at Latheron, Caithness, Scotland. He was the son of Francis Paterson and Margaret Leslie Tindal.
     George died on 1 July 1866 aged 3. He was buried at Mid-Clyth, Sutherland, Scotland.

     Georgina Paterson was born on 26 August 1866 at Latheron, Caithness, Scotland. She was the daughter of Francis Paterson and Margaret Leslie Tindal.

     James Paterson was born on 30 August 1868 at Latheron, Caithness, Scotland. He was the son of Francis Paterson and Margaret Leslie Tindal.

     
     James B Paterson married Eleanor Kennedy Houghton, daughter of Joseph Stephen Houghton and Eleanor Eliza Kennedy. He was born in 1902.

     John Paterson was born on 17 September 1864 at Latheron, Caithness, Scotland. He was the son of Francis Paterson and Margaret Leslie Tindal.
     John died on 4 March 1892 at Montreal, Quebec, Canada, aged 27.

     Alfred (Bowen) Paul was born before 1875 at New South Wales. This could be the son of John & Eva Paul, who died in 1874. He was the son of William Henry Paul and Frances Spencer. He was buried in 1875 at North Sydney.
     Alfred died in 1875 at St Leonards district, New South Wales.

     Alfred Bowen Paul was born circa 1873 at New South Wales. No Alfreds born in the 70s to either John & Eva, or William Henry & Frances. There are two deaths for Alfred Pauls - 1875 (#4264), Alfred son of William H & Frances (who are buried at North Sydney and whose daughter Mary Esther is buried with Alfred Bowen Paul); - 1874 (#1270) Alfred E B, son of John & Eva. Need certificates to confirm. There is no other issue of a John & Eva in the registers of NSW!
There is an Alfred B Paul born in 1859 (2505) son of Henry H & Margaret in Balmain. He was the son of John Paul and Eva Unknown (Paul).
     Alfred died on 25 January 1874 at Sydney, New South Wales. He was buried at St Thomas' Church of England, North Sydney.

     Arabella Paul was born on 9 December 1835 at George St, Sydney, New South Wales. She was the daughter of George William Paul and Sarah Jane Dalton. She was christened on 22 March 1837 at St James, Sydney.
     Arabella Paul married John Edward Irwin in 1855 at West Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. He married secondly Mary Sarah Ingram and had issue by her.

     Arthur died on 20 April 1909 at Hendon RD, Middlesex, England, aged 46.
