     Arthur died on 27 July 1826 aged 30.

Charles Handcock

     Charles Handcock was born on 31 January 1808 in Westmeath. Born on the 28th according to the Kings Inn admission papers. He was the son of Richard Handcock 2nd Baron Castlemaine and Ann French.
     Charles matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin, on 7 November 1825. Charles was a barrister.
     He married Elizabeth Kelly on 25 April 1845, she died 26 June 1878 and was the daughter of Daniel Kelly of Cargins by Mary French, daughter of Charles, 3rd Lord de Freyne.
     Charles died on 13 February 1879 aged 71.

     She may be the Deborah Handcock of the Union of Aghour, spinster, who married Thomas Holmes of Bonnetstown in the co. of Kilkenny, farmer, on 17 July 1775, both Protestants.
A Hester Handcock of the same place, spinster, Protestant married George Dillon of Colone in co. Kilkenny, farmer on 18 Oct 1766.
The next entry was for Richard Handcock, of Freshford, Gent, and Susannah Sargent of the Union of Aghour, spinster, Protestant, on 30 Oct 1766.
On 3 July 1758, Anne Handcock of Freshford, co Kilkenny married Jonathan Long, of Castletown, Queens county, both of the Protestant religion.

     Eliah Handcock was born circa 1720? In Ireland?. His parentage is uncertain. He was the son of Rev? Eliah Handcock and 'Widow' Crowse.
     Eliah Handcock married Mary Pierce in 1749 in Ardagh & Kilmore Diocese. He is probably the Eliah Handcock, who obtained a marriage licence to wed Mary Peirce/Piers, the daughter of Henry 3rd Baronet(1678-1733). Lodge's peerage of Ireland describes him as the son of Eliah, of Annaghduffe.
     Eliah Handcock and an unknown person obtained a marriage licence on 1 April 1772. Elia Handcock, widower, St Olave, Bermondsey & Mary Reinhardina, spinster, St Mary Hornsey.
     Eliah Handcock married secondly Mary Reinhardina Guy Dickens on 9 April 1772 in St Olave, Southwark, Surrey. Eliah Handcock, widower, of this parish & Mary Reinhardin Guydickens of Hornsey, Mdx, spinster were married in this church by lycence . Signed Eliah Handcock & M R Guydickens, in the presence of Eliza Wood & Cha? Gilbert.
He was probably her second cousin and had married in 1749 to Mary Peirce.
     He was described as a gent of Waddon, Surrey in 1775.
     Eliah Handcock was mentioned in the will of Melchior Guy Dickens dated 10 July 1775.
     Eliah Handcock and Mary Reinhardina Guy Dickens obtained a marriage licence on 4 June 1787 in London. But she was described as his wife in 1775 and 1776.
SoG reported that in the marriage licence allegation for Eliah Handcock and Mary Reinhardina Guydickens dated 4 June 1787, Mr. Handcock is listed as a widower of the parish of St. Andrew Holborn. Mary Guydickens is listed as a spinster of the same parish, aged 35. A licence was issued to them to be married in the parish church of St Andrew Holborn. We happen to have a microfilmed copy of the St Andrew marriage records and I found a marriage entry for them on 5 June 1787, one day after the licence was issued.
     Eliah Handcock was also reported as having married Mary Reinhardina Guy Dickens, daughter of Melchior Guy Dickens and Hannah Handcock, on 5 June 1787 in St Andrew, Holborn, London. Eliah Handcock of the parish of St Andrew Holborn, Middlesex, Esq, widower, and Mary Reinhardina Guydickens of the same parish were married in this church by licence 5 June 1787 by me Charles Barton, Rector. This marriage was solemnized between us Eliah Handcock and M R Guydickens in the presence of us Dorothea Handcock, R Perry.
     Eliah Handcock made a will dated 9 June 1787 in Rumney. I Eliah Handcock of Rompney, esquire make this my last will and testament ... I desire that my body may be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix hereafter named And I give devise and bequeath all my estate and effects whatsoever unto my dear wife Mary Reinhardina Handcock her heirs etc absolutely ... and I do hereby nominate my said wife sole executrix.
     Eliah died before 2 January 1790 in Rumney, Gwent/Monmouthshire, Wales.
     His will was proved on 2 January 1790 in the Llandaff Diocesan Court, Wales. He was buried on 7 January 1790 in Rumney.

     Rev? Eliah Handcock married 'Widow' Crowse. Eliah was vicar at Rathcline & Cashell, Longford, on 4 November 1727. Eliah Handcock, AM coll. fuit 4 die mensis Novem. anno 1727 ad vicar. de Rathcline et Cashell in com. Longford. Eliah was Rector at Annaduff, Leitrim, Ireland, in 1740. Ardagh Succession List - J B Leslie : Cashel - Vicars: 1727. Eliah Handcock. coll. V. Cashel, Rathcline, Nov. 4, (F.F.); res. for (? 1737) Annaduffe 1740.
     Eliah died before 9 April 1768 in Belfast, Shankill, Antrim. Dublin 15 April. Died In Belfast, the Rev Eliah Handcock, Rector of Annaduffe, co. Leitrim, and uncle to the present Dean Hancock. A footnote adds: 2nd son of Thomas H. of Twyford & Dorothy Green. Dean Hancock was Richard, Dean of Achonry, father of William, cr. 1812 Baron Castlemaine & 1822 Viscount Castlemaine and Richard 2nd Baron Castlemaine.
     He was the ancestor of John, Lt Gov Kinsale & Robert, Dep Q.M.G.

     Rev Elias Handcock married Roberta Arthur on 27 February 1838 in St Peter, Dublin. He was of Stradbally and she was of 30 Lower Mount St.      
Rev Elias Handcock paid the Griffith Valuation & was listed in the main street in the 1850s in Stradbally, Laois, Ireland. Elias Elias Handcock, presented by R S Baron Carew, March 2 1858, instituted March 10 (Diocesan Records). Son of Rev Thomas Handcock, born in Wexford, educated by his father, entered TCD Nov 23 1823, aged 19, BA 1830. Ordained deacon 1832, Curate Stradbally 1835-1858 at Dysert Enos, (Maryborough), Laois, in 1858.
     Elias died on 18 April 1870 in Kilteale orKilteile or Kiltaile (Maryborough), Mountmellick RD, Offaly, Ireland, aged 66.
     His will was proved on 1 June 1870 in the Principal Probate Registry, London. The will of the Rev Elias Handcock, late of Kiltaile Glebe, Kings co., clerk who died 18 April 1870 at same. PPR by oath of Roberta Handcock of same near Stradbally, widow, the sole executrix. Good under £200.

     Rev Elias Handcock married Catherine Smyth on 14 August 1742 in Dublin, Ireland.
     He was cited for not appearing and paying procurations for Annaduff Sep 1742.
     Rev Elias Handcock lived at Meath, 1754. Elias was Rector at Kilnafed, Cavan.
     Rev Elias Handcock made a will dated 11 May 1767. He mentioned his wife Catherine Handcock and brother John Chaigneau. Elias was curate at Athlone, Westmeath/Roscommon, in 1768. He was also Master of the Endowed School there. Elias was Rector at Clonfadforan, Meath, between 1768 and 1771.
     Elias died before 2 April 1771 in Athlone, Ireland. He was buried on 2 April 1771 in Athlone.
     His will was proved on 14 June 1771 in the Prerogative Court of Armagh.
