     John Hamilton was born circa 1610. He was the son of Malcolm Hamilton Archbishop of Cashel and Mary Wilkie.
     Hall Hamilton in Sweden, 2007 of CHM John Hamilton is quoted on Wikpedia : Two sons of John, Malcolm and Hugo moved to Sweden and founded the family of Hamilton of Hageby out of which the latter dynasty Hamilton utgrenats.
     John died in 1696.

     Sir John Hamilton was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was the son of Sir David Hamilton and Janet Keith.
     Sir John Hamilton married Janet Douglas, daughter of Sir James Douglas. He was of Cadzow.
     He witnessed a charter 14 May 1392.
     He was imprisoned, along with his brothers William and Andrew, in Norwich, in 1396. Richard II of England ordered their release from the Mayor and bailies of that city on 29 June. A John Hamilton, either his brother John Hamilton of Bardowie, or uncle, John Hamilton of Fingalton was released from the Tower of London on the same date. Hamilton and his uncle seem to have found themselves guests of the English again, when at a meeting of Border commissioners at Hawdenstank, on 28 October 1398, the first point of business was the release of Hamilton of Cadzow, and Hamilton of Fingalton and others in their entourage. The Hamiltons had been caught at sea by English privateers, again in violation of the truce. The English were urged to release the ship and restore their goods to them, or alternatively pay suitable recompense.
     John died circa 1402.

     Lewis Hamilton Baron of Deserf married Anna Catherina Grubbe-Stjernfelt on 30 July 1651 in Sweden. Lewis Hamilton Baron of Deserf bore arms: Lewis entered the Swedish Army and was created 1 June 1654, Baron Hamilton de Deserf.
     Lewis died in 1662 in Sweden. He was buried in Gottenburg, Sweden.

Hugo HAMILTON af Deserf ((1610?) - 1679).
     He moved from Scotland to Ireland in c 1604. He was probably pastor of Kilburnie in 1604.
     Malcolm Hamilton Archbishop of Cashel married secondly Jane Crawford after 1612.
     He became Lord of the Manor of Castletown Monea, parish of Devenish, by purchase in 1615 and lived in the Castle of Monea. Malcolm Building of Monea Castle commenced in 1616 by the Rector of Devenish, the Reverend Malcolm Hamilton. Shortly after wards, in 1619, it was described by Pynnar as "a strong castle of lime and stone being 54 feet long and 20 feet broad". The bawn, comprising "a wall 9 feet in height and 300 feet in circuit" was added shortly before Hamilton was promoted in 1618.
     In 1623 he was appointed Archbishop of Cashel and in 1624 he sent his son Hugh [and others] to join the army of the Protestant hero, King Gustav Adloph nicknamed "the Lion of the North, and the Bulwark of the Protestant Faith".
The family had obtained Monea and Ballygawley in Tyrone-Fermanagh and Hugh's father had Monea castle built in their hereditary lands in c 1618, in Hugh's adolescence.
     Malcolm Hamilton Archbishop of Cashel made a will dated 27 August 1627. His will left his 5th son Lewis £100.
     Malcolm died of fever on 25 April 1629 in Camus, near Cashel, Ireland.
     His will was proved on 5 May 1629 in the Prerogative Court of Armagh.
