Gustavus Frederick Handcock was born circa 1847. He was the son of Gustavus Drake Handcock and Augusta Georgina Montfort.
In 1861 he was at a school in Ashton-under-Lyme, Lancashire, then in 1881 he was a copying clerk living in Paddington. On 16 July 1884 he married Lucy Elizabeth Domoney at St Jude’s church, East Brixton, London. Gustavus and Lucy had one son, Gustavus Forbes MacMahon, who was baptised in St Luke’s Church, Chelsea on 14 August 1885. It is believed he died young because no reference has been found to him after 1891. There is no mention of him in the 1901 census. Lucy died in Wandsworth, London, in June 1904.

Rev John Gustavus Handcock married Francis Flood Jessop on 13 November 1827 in Tishany, Longford. The Westmeath Journal reported the marriage: On Tuesday, the 13th inst. at Tishany Church, the Rev. John Gustavus Handcock, Rector and Vicar of Tishany, and of Abbeyshrule, son of Richard Handcock of Athlone, Esq. and nephew of Viscount Castlemaine, to Frances Flood Jessop, eldest daughter of the late John Harword Jessop, Esq. of Doory Hall, in the County of Longford, and grand-daughter of the late Sir Frederick Flood, Bart.
They had six children, inc 3 daughters the eldest being aged 8 at his death.

John died of typhus on 2 March 1838 in the Glebe, Annaduff, Leitrim, Ireland. There is an account of his life and work by his wife in "The Church of England magazine" available via Googlebooks along with a copy of an article on him in the Evening mail, March 1833/8. He was buried on 6 March 1838 in Athlone, Westmeath/Roscommon. Sacred to the memory of the Rev John Gustavus Handcock late Rector of the Parish of Annaduff Co. Leitrim. This tablet was erected by his brothers in token of their love and affection for him.
His will was proved on 24 March 1838 in the Prerogative Court of Armagh. His goods were valued at £1384, the executor being his wife Frances leaving all to his wife and children.
Rev John Gustavus Handcock married Francis Flood Jessop on 13 November 1827 in Tishany, Longford. The Westmeath Journal reported the marriage: On Tuesday, the 13th inst. at Tishany Church, the Rev. John Gustavus Handcock, Rector and Vicar of Tishany, and of Abbeyshrule, son of Richard Handcock of Athlone, Esq. and nephew of Viscount Castlemaine, to Frances Flood Jessop, eldest daughter of the late John Harword Jessop, Esq. of Doory Hall, in the County of Longford, and grand-daughter of the late Sir Frederick Flood, Bart.
They had six children, inc 3 daughters the eldest being aged 8 at his death.
Rev John Gustavus Handcock made a will dated 28 February 1838.
John died of typhus on 2 March 1838 in the Glebe, Annaduff, Leitrim, Ireland. There is an account of his life and work by his wife in "The Church of England magazine" available via Googlebooks along with a copy of an article on him in the Evening mail, March 1833/8. John Little Handcock was born circa 1853. He was the son of Gustavus Drake Handcock and Augusta Georgina Montfort.
Henry & Ann Montfort wrote: He married Nannie Harriet Harvey King in Rathmines parish church, Dublin, on 4 October 1887. She was the daughter of the Rev. Jonas King. They lived at Colebrook but later moved to Tullycanna, Ballymitty, County Wexford, where they both died. John was buried on 4 February 1942 and Nannie on 19 March 1943, both in Taghmon cemetery. They had two sons (twins) and a daughter:
a) Gustavus Drake, born on 20 March 1889; his date of death is unknown.
b) John Little, born on 20 March 1889; buried 3 May 1959.
c) Augusta Georgina, born on16 August 1890; her date of death is unknown.
Peggy Handcock added: Gustavus Drake married Christena Mc Grath of John Street Wexford on the 19 August 1925 and settled in New Zealand having three children still living.
