Eliah Handcock was born circa 1720? In Ireland?. His parentage is uncertain. He was the son of Rev? Eliah Handcock and 'Widow' Crowse.
Eliah Handcock married Mary Pierce in 1749 in Ardagh & Kilmore Diocese. He is probably the Eliah Handcock, who obtained a marriage licence to wed Mary Peirce/Piers, the daughter of Henry 3rd Baronet(1678-1733). Lodge's peerage of Ireland describes him as the son of Eliah, of Annaghduffe.

Mary Guydickens is listed as a spinster of the same parish, aged 35. A licence was issued to them to be married in the parish church of St Andrew Holborn. We happen to have a microfilmed copy of the St Andrew marriage records and I found a marriage entry for them on 5 June 1787, one day after the licence was issued.

Gustavus died on 4 September 1751 in Waterstown, Westmeath, Ireland. To the memory of Gustavus Handcock, late of Waterstown in the county of Westmeath Esq who ded 4th Sepr 1751. Aged fifty eight. Lamented by all who knew his virtues. He was humane, friendly and religious, an active and impartial magistrate. His conduct in Parliament was directed by love of his country, which was constant and sincere. A kind husband and tender father of a lovely daughter Katherine, who died 5th April 1746 aged sixteen, and of a son Robert, who shewed in his conduct ther fruit of an early and pious education. In him revived his Father's virtues. The favour of youth was tempered by the sense of age. He was exemplary to the young, Honoured and beloved by the aged and experienced. But he was scarcely seen and admired until he was summoned to the Happiness he aspired. He died in the 24th year of his age, anno 1754. This monument was erected to their remains by Elizabeth Handcock, widow and mother to these once dear and now Lamented Persons. AD 1759. He was buried in St Mary's Church of Ireland, Athlone, Westmeath/Roscommon, Ireland.
The administration of his estate was granted in 1751 in the Prerogative Court of Armagh.
