     In Thomas Silvester's will dated 7 April 1727 in the Tower of London, Thomas Gilbert was named as heir; His will left £2000 his mother Sarah Silvester, he leaves bequests (£200) to his brother William Silvester & his sisters Hannah Silvester, Elizabeth Gilbert Wife of William Gilbert of Pancras Lane London, his brother in law Mr Thomas Gilbert of Thames Street London. Smaller bequests (£100) were given to his cousin Sarah Turner of the Tower of London Spinster, his cousin Anne Clay of the Tower of London Spinster, [his later brother in law] Mr William Berrisford Mariner now belonging to the good ship the Princess of Wales in the service of the East India Company and friend Mr Thomas Harrison of the parish of St. Botolph Aldgate linen draper and £50 to Mr Robert East of the parish of St. Olave Hart Street London now apprentice to Mr Plant Wine Merchant when he turned 21.
He also gave to his brother William Silvester £100 in trust to place the same out at interest or otherwise improve the same on parliamentary security to pay quarterly to his Uncle Hezekiah Clay and Mary his wife.
He also gave £100 to share between his mother and brother William along with the residue of the estate and appointed them executors.
