     Letters from a Stephen Fouace dated April 1697 to Sir Edmund Andros re College accounts are held in the Public Record office, with photocopies in the John D Rockefeller Jr Library Special Collections section. Presumably the same man was: Stephen Fouace who came from England in 1688, returned and died there in 1702, mentioend in Colonial churches in the original colony of Virginia. He was Rector of York-Hampton.
Stepehn Fouace (Fovate), clerk & Charles Fouace (Fovate) were listed in the Denizations roll from State Papers Domestic, on April 9, 1687.
Stephen is also mentioned in State Papers, Colonial v. 22 1704-5: 271. Affidavit of Stephen Fouace. Gives evidence of Governor Nicholson's violent abuse of Col.
