     Sister & heir to William de Fortibus. She inherited the Earldom of Albemarle & Holderness, Barony of Skipton in Craven, Manor of Harewood & other estates. She predeceased her mother.
     She married Edmund (Crouchback or Crookback) Earl of Lancaster, 2nd son of King Henry III who was Lord of Harewood 1274.
     During her minority, King Henry III's eldest son Edward assigned the castle & barony of Skipton to Alexander King of Scotland for 1500 pounds. Edmund obtained her father's vast estates but not her mothers as she was still living. [Parker].
     Edmund subsequently married Blanche daughter of Robert Count of Artois and widow of Henry King of Navarre and had issue. Aveline de Fortibus was born circa 1251 in England. She had 15 years minority as the ward of Richard de Clare, Earl of Gloucester. She was described as 18 in 1269, 21 in 1272.. She was the daughter of William de Fortibus Count of Aumale and Isabel de Redvers Countess of Aumale.
     Aveline de Fortibus married Edmund Earl of Lancaster in April 1269.
     Aveline died in 1274 or 1279. She predeceased her mother and left no issue.

     William de Fortibus Count of Aumale bore arms: Argent, a chief gules, as did his father and grandfather.
     William le Gros founded Scarboro' Castle, where he ruled like a King over the country about it, until he was reduced by King Henry II.
He became lord of Harewood in 1240, 7th Earl of Devonshire (succeeding his grandfather in 1217).. He was born circa 1220 in England. During his minority the King committed the manor of Harewood to Walter Grey, Archbishop of York.. He was the son of William de Fortibus and Aveline de Montfitchet.
     William de Fortibus Count of Aumale married Isabel de Redvers Countess of Aumale, daughter of Baldwin de Redvers and Amicia de Clare, circa 1241. He married three times. First Devorgilla daughter of ... who died without issue; secondly Constance or Christiana, daughter of Alan, Lord of Gallaway (who died 1234) died without issue, thirdly Isabel, daughter of Baldwin Rivers, Earl of Devonshire.
Isabel married William de Fors or de Fortibus, Earl of Albemarle. The correct modern spelling of this name is Aumale, a place situated on the river Brele in Normandy. The Latin form is Alba Marla or Aumalcum. In the 13th century it was called in France Aubemarle or Albemalle. [Oxf Rec Soc V XIV intro].
     William died in 1260 in Amiens, France. He died 40/44 Hen III and was buried at Meaux Abbey 1240! The two Williams are obviously mixed up here, check the sources again.
Roger Hovenden says "he was buried in Thornton Abbey in Lincolnshire which he founded in 1139. in 29 Ed II 1356 [sic], he had a grant for a fair at Pocklington.
