     Letters from a Stephen Fouace dated April 1697 to Sir Edmund Andros re College accounts are held in the Public Record office, with photocopies in the John D Rockefeller Jr Library Special Collections section. Presumably the same man was: Stephen Fouace who came from England in 1688, returned and died there in 1702, mentioend in Colonial churches in the original colony of Virginia. He was Rector of York-Hampton.
Stepehn Fouace (Fovate), clerk & Charles Fouace (Fovate) were listed in the Denizations roll from State Papers Domestic, on April 9, 1687.
Stephen is also mentioned in State Papers, Colonial v. 22 1704-5: 271. Affidavit of Stephen Fouace. Gives evidence of Governor Nicholson's violent abuse of Col. Jennings, and of Major Burwell, his mistress's father, etc., who, he thought, were against his match; and of his abuse of deponent and other clergymen, etc. Signed, Stephen Fouace. 4 pp. [C.O. 5, 1314. He was listed on a deed dated 18 December 1727 as a witness. Indenture of lease and release dated 18 & 19 December 1727, Lease: 1 John Usher, Dublin & Brabason Newcomen, Louth, esq; 2 Richard Warburton, Dublin, esq. Release: 1 John Usher & B Newcomen, 2 James Clark of Kellystown, Kildare, son and heir of Thomas Clark, 3 Richard Warburton, 4 Samuel Handy of Brackareagh, Westmeath, gent; whereby the release citing a mortgage on the lands of Killbeg & Brackareagh by the said James Clark & John Handy esq to the said John Ussher for £1000 in trust ... has agreed to sell to the said Samuel Handy for £1450/13/8 part of mortgaged ....& the said Samuel Handy only laid down £440/13/8 ... townland of Killbeg & Brackareagh commony called or known as Colelaugh and that part of Brackareagh meared & founded as in the map annexed except 10 acres of Brabazon Newcomen ...      His mother may be the Lydia Fouace, widow, whose will was proved in the PCA in 1741.
