The master was Tonkin and she carried 44 cabin passengers and 93 steerage passengers. The 'next passenger was William Jones aged 27 a draper, followed by Sophia Mudge, wife aged 43. The following eleven people were all merchants including Thomas Gruby aged 32. The ship carried 41 adult passengers, 3 children and 1 infant. Apart from 9 Scots and 1 Irish they were all English.

By Baptist rites, at the residence of the groom,George was described as a hosier & haberdasher. Sarah was of 24 Swanston St Melbourne (the business of Wm Anderson hosier). The wedding was witnessed by Jane Anderson. Sarah Evans was listed in a directory dated 1904 as Mrs Sarah Ruby at 5 Moreland Rd West, Coburg. She was listed in a directory dated 1905 as Mrs Sarah Ruby at 3 Grandview Tce, Moreland Rd, West Coburg. Miss F Ruby, music teacher & Mrs Sarah Ruby, h.d. 5 Grandview Tce, Moreland Rd, W. Coburg.

     Sarah and George were registered as Geo & Sarah Ruby, agent & h.d. Yarram in Yarram, Victoria, on the electoral roll dated 1908. He was not listed in the 1912 electoral roll.
     Sarah was registered as Sarah Ruby, at 24 Moreland Rd in Moreland, Victoria, on the electoral roll dated 1908. The unmarried children were also listed. She was listed in a directory dated 1923 as Mrs Sarah Ruby at 124 Murray Street, Caulfield, Victoria.
     Sarah died on 29 December 1929 in 59 Wattletree Rd, Malvern, Victoria, aged 83. Her usual residence was 124 Murray St, Caulfield, she had diabetes but it was a sudden death. RUBY. - On the 29th December (suddenly), at the residence of her daughter (Mrs. L. J. Hooper), Warrawee, 59 Wattletree road, Malvern, Sarah, relict of the late George Ruby, and loving mother of Clara (Mrs. J. Nelson), Ada (Mrs. A. F. Levens), George, Albert, Charles, Lillian (Mrs. L. J. Hooper), Elsie, Hilda (Mrs. J. Barratt), and Ernest, late of Yarram and Niatagoon, 124 Murray street, Caulfield (Privately interred Brighton Cemetery, 30th December, 1929.) . She was buried on 30 December 1929 in Brighton, Victoria.
     Her will was proved on 13 March 1930 in Victoria.
     Elsie May Ruby wrote in 1976 "Came to Melbourne to help a cousin in his drapery shop. The 3 month journey was tiresome for a girl of 16 who was often sea-sick, because of this she never had a desire to return to England. Sarah was musical and during the trip out would often entertain the crew and passengers with her singing. The writer's recollection of "Ma" as she was affectionately known, is that of a petite figure about 80 years old without a grey hair. "Ma" also had a stroke and died a few days later at 84".

     William Evans married Sarah Unknown (Evans) before 1810. A Jane Evans aged 4 was buried 6 Feb 1815. A William Evans married Sarah Bassett, 11 June 1806 at Christ Church, Wellington, There is no suitable marriage at Baschurch - the most likely marriage in the limited Shropshire marriage index is between William Evans & Sarah pool on 15 Feb 1802 at Mainstone (note that a similarly name couple married at 23 Dec 1799 at Broseley).

     William died on 7 March 1843?. At his daughter Elizabeth's baptism in 1819, only the mother's name is given! By 1851 his wife is described as a widow.
He may be the William Evans aged 62 of Edgbaston St, in St Martin's Birmingham, who was buried on the 7 March 1843.
