Peter the son of Sam is too young [44] to be the tenant at Edengarrock who was aged 60 in 1841, and most of the baptisms of his children were witnessed by James Emslie of Backbrae who was born at Tullynessle, so I doubt whether these events relate to John's brother Peter.

Son of John Emslie, coppersmith (master) deceased and Jane Emslie, m.s. Stephen (deceased). The informant was his widow Margaret on the 16th. He was buried on 18 December 1897 in Nellfield Cemetery, Aberdeen. Peter Emslie, 18 Dec 1897 aged 65 yrs.
