He was christened on 12 March 1814 in Ballybrahir, Cloyne, Cork. He was the son of Patrick Colbert and Bridget A'Hearn. Edmond was a surveyor and gentleman from 1855.
     Edmond Colbert married Susan Berry on 6 August 1855 in St James Church of England, Melbourne, Victoria. They were aged 29 & 36, both of North Melbourne.
     Edmond was registered as as Edmund Colbert, surveyor in Leveson St, Royal Park, Melbourne, Victoria, on the electoral roll dated 1856. However he would be too young to be registered as an adult in 1856. He was listed in a directory dated between 1871 and 1884 at Rowena Parade, Richmond, Victoria. Edmond was widowed on 28 July 1885 in Tiverton Cottage, 14 Rowena Pde, Richmond, Victoria, on the death of his wife Susan Berry.

In the 1850 valuation at Killaseragh, Edmond is not listed.
     An Edmund Colbert & Frances Neville marry in 1846 & have children at Conna from 1847-50 which is probably the grandson.

Edmond Colbert and Michael Colbert (of Conna) was assessed in the Griffith Valuation of Ireland in 1850 in Ballymonteen, Ballynoe, Cork, Ireland. He is possibly the Michael listed in the 1850 Griffith Valuation at Ballymonteen, Ballynoe who leased 92 acres from John Nason. This is unlikely to be the same Edward, I suspect that Michael Colbert (92 acres in 1850) is the son of the Edward Colbert (92 acres in 1833), John is probably another son with 68 acres, and Edmund with a only a house on Michael's land is a grandson of the first Edmund or the Michael's younger brother.

     Edmond Colbert paid tithes in 1834 in Glenaphuca, Dungourney Cork. In the 1834 tithe valuation, an Edmond Colbert leased with Patrick Colbert 60 acres of land in Glanapouka. Michael and Maurice were also in the townland.      
Edmond Colbert paid the Griffith Valuation in 1850 in Glenaphuca, Dungourney Cork. The 1850 Griffith Valuation lists an Edmond Colbert leasing 81 acres at Rathcanning in the parish of Dungourney from the trustees of Viscount Midleton taxed at £40. He sublet houses to Denis Sullivan, Johanna Foley & William Hickey. Maurice Colbert also leased 23 acres in the same townland. In Dungourney townland there was also Edmund Colbert leasing a house, offices and 96 acres of land from the representative of Viscount Midleton, taxed at £76. There was also a John Colbert renting a 10/- house from Patrick Smithwick.

     Edmond Colbert paid tithes between 1827 and 1828 in Ballinrush, Kilworth, Cork. The Tithe Applotment books list Edmond Colbert at Ballinrush townland in the parish of Kilworth leasing 9 acres of land, he is not listed in the 1850 valuation there but a John Colbert is listed with a house and 26 acres of land leased from the Lord Chancellor there. There are no Colberts in the Kilcrumper part of Ballinarush taken 22 April 1828.
