Thomas Martin Cocksedge, son of the late Colonel Cocksedge of St Edmund's Hill, Suffolk and of Mary Susannah his wife, daughter of the late Michael Willm Lehuep Esq. of Hessett, Suffolk & Ashwell, Herts, died May 5 1846 aged 31. He died in a fire, the inquest being reported in the West Sussex gazette, 12 May 1846. He was buried after 5 May 1846 in Worthing. His gravestone reads: Sacred To the memory of Thomas Martin Cocksedge Esq. Eldest son of the late Colonel Cocksedge (of St Edmunds Hill Suffolk) And of Mary Susan his wife Daughter of the late Michael William Lehup Esq. (of Hessett Suffolk and Amwell Hertfordshire) Who died May 5th 1846 Age 31 years.
