     Douglas Haig Appleyard was born in 1916 in Yarram, Victoria. He was the son of George Appleyard and Isabella Tindell MacKenzie.

     Isabella Apsley married Sir William Wentworth, son of Sir William Wentworth, circa 9 February 1666 in Yorkshire. She was the daughter of Sir Allen Apsley, treasurer to the household of James, Duke of York.
     Isabella died in 1733.

     Margaret Arbuthnott married Alexander Dunbar 5th Bart of Northfield, son of Archibald Dunbar 4th Bart of Northfield (de jure) and Helen Dunbar, on 21 April 1769.
     Margaret died on 8 June 1801.

     Philippa Arcedekne married Sir Hugh Courteney before 1407. She was the daughter and co-heiress of Sir Warin Arcedekne, 3rd Baron Arcedekne and Elizabeth Talbot.
     Philippa died before October 1417.

     Elisabeth Archbald married Robert Hooper, son of Robert Hooper and Margery Dawson, before 1776 in Scotland. Note that a William Archbold's family from Nenthon produced testificates on July 20 1698 at Ednam. A Robert Hooper and Betty Archibald marry at St Cuthbert's Edinburgh on 9 June 1774.

     Thomas Archdale married Alice Serjeantson, daughter of Robert Serjeantson and Mary Smith.

     Angel Archdall (Richardson) was born on 15 September 1765 in Dublin, Ireland. She was the daughter of Mervyn Archdall and Mary Dawson.
     Angel died in 1817.

     Angell Archdall married Nicholas Montgomery, son of Hugh Montgomery and Catherine Dunbar, before 20 March 1724 in Ireland. Montgomery to Archdall 20/3/1724 - (1) Nicholas Montgomery and Catherine his mother & (2) Mervyn Archdall & (3) Guy Carleton in consideration of a marriage between Nicholas & Angell Montgomery alias Archdall his wife, sister of said Mervyn Archdall, for £1500, the manor & lordship of Derrygonelly & Castleton.
     Angell died in 1747.

     Richard de Argentein married Cassandra De Lisle, daughter of Robert de Lisle, in 1203/4. She brought Newmarket & Exning as a marriage portion.
     Richard died on 9 January 1247.

     Mary van Arkel married John II d'Egmond, son of Arnold d'Egmond and Yolantha von Leiningen, on 24 June 1409.
     Mary died on 18 July 1415.

     John Arlote married Isabel Sykeston. John Arlote was born in Sussex, England.

     Olive Arlote was born circa 1470. She was the daughter of John Arlote and Isabel Sykeston.
     Olive Arlote married John Bartelott before 1493 in Sussex. Comber states that she had issue by Bartelott. Olive was widowed on 20 November 1493 in Stopham, Sussex, England, on the death of her husband John Bartelott.
     Olive Arlote married James Homewood as her second husband, after December 1493 in Sussex. She was the relict of John Bartelott of Stopham who died 20 November 1493. Olive Arlote was an executor of James Homewood's estate on 21 February 1509/10 in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury.
     Olive Arlote was mentioned in a deed dated 1517.

     Alice de Armenters was the daughter of Henry de Armenters.
     Alice de Armenters married Gerard de Lisle, son of Robert de Lisle and Alice FitzGerald, circa 1271.
     Warin de Insula, knight, and Alice widow of Gerard de Insula. 11 July 18 Edw. I - Warin has granted to Alice the custody of Warin, son and heir of Gerard de Insula, her late husband, with the lands and holdings which were of Gerard when he died in the vills of Kyngeston and Mundeford, until the full age of Warin; for 310 marks paid to him and to Walter de Langeton, king's clerk, viz. to him 60 marks at the feast of St. Peter in chains next coming [1 Aug.], and to Walter 100 marks at the feast of All Saints next coming [1 Nov.], and at Easter 50 marks to Walter, and at Michaelmas 50 marks to Walter, and at Michaelmas 20 Edw. I [1292] 50 marks to him

     Alice died after 1290. She was mentioned at the Inquisition Post Mortem held on 10 February 1327/28 on the death of Warin de Lisle. He died seized of the manors of Bouden, Kingston and Fanflore in Berkshire, Mundiford in Norfolk, and Kistingbury in Northamptonshire, leaving Gerard, his son aged 23, and Alice his wife, sister & heir of Henry, Baron Teyes surviving.
