James Tiffin, farmer of Hesset, said he heard a great noise in the yard, they were found making a great noise, the landlord endeavoured to get them to keep quiet, he then sent for John Burrows the parish constable.
They left when Burrows appeared, whilst they were dispersing the Rev Blake came into the yard and complained. Dismissed.

     He was a novelist, essayist, short story writer, critic and poet. He wrote both supernatural fiction and some children's literature. He was born in London, and educated at Jesus College, Cambridge. During World War II he worked for the BBC in London, and after it was a radio broadcaster.
     Gerald died in 1958.

     Harriet Bullett was recorded on the 1851 census in Groom Farm, Hessett. Harriett Bullett, servant, unmarried 19, general servant, born Hessett in the household of Mary Groom widow, farmer of 105 acres employing 9 men, and her family. 'However 'my' Harriett was born at Wattisham.
     Harriet Bullett married Abraham Bland, son of William Bland and Elizabeth Cocksedge, on 23 October 1852 in Hessett.
     Harriet Bullett and Abraham Bland arrived per "Star of the South" on 5 August 1857 at Victoria, Australia. Abraham & his family sailed from Liverpool April 24 1857 as assisted immigrants and arrived at Hobsons Bay Melbourne on August 5 1857. Abraham was described as a 25 year old labourer of Suffolk, religion - Church of England, able to read only. Harriet was 25 and could read & write. Eliza Ann was 4 and William an infant. They took passage by the steamer "Thistle" (which was wrecked in 1859) to Yarram arriving there on Aug 10th. Their 'disposal' was to J Carpenter of Yarram on Aug 12, wages being £52 p.a. the term 12 months. Mr Carpenter was a sawmiller and contractor and operated a flour and saw mill adjacent to the Tarra River in Yarram, or the Barkly Township as it was called by Carpenter. He worked for Carpenter for 7 years and then rented the Aylesbury property from him for 4 years before purchasing it.
     Another Abraham Bland, aged 37, an English labourer from Adelaide arrived in Melbourne in February 1852 aboard the Charlotte Jane.
     On 3 May 1866, Harriett Bland paid into the immigration deposit account for the passage of her brother George Bullett and his wife Mary Ann & their daughter Annie aged 3, to Victoria.
     On 10 January 1867, Harriet Bland paid into the Immigration Deposit account £8 for William Cocksedge and £2 each for Edward [Emma??] Cocksedge & Charlotte Cocksedge.
     In Abraham Bland's will dated 15 July 1896 in Yarram, Victoria,, Harriet Bullett was named as heir and executrix of the estate. She was an executor of Abraham Bland's estate on 4 February 1898.
     Harriet Bullett made a will dated 12 June 1907 in Victoria.
     Harriett gave land to the Wesley church £480/10/6. Joan Graham lived in the old parsonage when the church was demolished. The parsonage was a replica of 'Aylesbury'. Mrs Wood was the author of the Wesley church history.
     Harriet died on 23 December 1909 in Yarram, Victoria, Australia, aged 76. She was buried on 24 December 1909 in the Church of England section, Alberton.
     Her will was proved on 8 March 1910 in VIC. Her real estate was valued at £1200 and personal estate at £2324.
